about me

Photography is my passion, as is my family, my dog and traveling.  I’m a North Carolina native (there aren’t very many of us ‘locals’ anymore) born and raised in an awesome family.  When I say awesome I mean basically every memory I have  of family bonding resembles that of The Griswolds in any of their Family Vacation movies.  I’m blissfully happy as a newlywed married to the best man I’ve ever known, besides my dad.  Jason, is the love of my life and I’m pretty sure most people are tired of me telling them how lucky I am because he is such a catch.  Maggie, our black and white English Springer Spaniel, is our only spoiled child for now.

I’m educated in Journalism, Advertising and Photography from the University of North Carolina at  Chapel Hill where I was a photographer for student newspaper, The Daily Tarheel.  My Masters Degree I earned at North Carolina State University where my focus was in Tourism Marketing.  This experience was an integral piece of my success while photographing for the North Carolina Division of Film, Tourism and Sport Development.

I do have formal training in photography and photoshop but constantly take workshops and classes on techniques as the Digital Film industry is constantly evolving.  My photography is casual and genuine.  Most of my sessions involve bubbles and laughter.  My full time job is in Advertising for a fortune 10 company but because I have a Type A personality I never sit still and I’ve never met a stranger.   Any client you asked after they’ve had a portrait session with me will tell you one thing consistently, “she made me feel so at ease and comfortable”.

One of my favorite shows is Inside the Actor’s Studio on Bravo.  At the end of each show James Lipton, the host, poses the same questions to each famous actor/actress interviewed.  Even though I’m not famous, yet, I’ll be ready when I’m asked.
